Day 208 or My Husband is So...

Lee over at Headaches, Hormones, & Hot Flashes and Deb at Menopausal New Mom have joined together in Wonder Twin Power style to create a new meme called My Husband is So... and their entries made me laugh enough to be willing to try. But first a disclaimer. My husband has been a diligent reader of my blog since Day One (in fact, for the first few months, he was often the only reader!) so honey, please remember that I love you! Okay, that base covered...

My husband is so ridiculous with illness. Mine or His. Are all men like this? (And yes to my male readers, let me know what you think! All three of you...)

It has been well documented (at least in this blog) that last week was hell to the -acious in this house. We were racked by illness. It started with me. And I was sicker than I have been in years. And strike me down with lightning (please don't!) if the man didn't get angry. He's stomping around like the three year old. So here I am semi-conscious trying to deal with Mr. Grumps who can't seem to do anything without me. I can't tell you how many times I had to tell my children to go ask their Dad and have them return three minutes later.

But then it got worse. Before I was fully well, he had the audacity to get sick. And then we further regressed from the three year old to an infant. The man ran a slight temperature and you would have thought that Scarlet Fever had descended on the western front. He moaned and whined. Basically, he was a Big, Fat Baby! (Come on, hun! You know that it's true!)

But here's what I don't understand. This man has been to war. He has dealt with RPGs and IEDs and yet, he can't deal with the same virus with which he thought I could maintain all my household duties! He doesn't understand that I might be taken down by something but he should be able to sleep ALL day. ALL DAY.

So, does your spouse (husband) show great bravery/aplomb in one area of their life and then demonstrates a complete lack of anything in other arenas? Or am I the baby? (I'm not the baby!)

Thanks again to Lee and Deb! Head over to their place if you want to join in!

Happy Wednesday! (Especially to my beautiful, wonderful, warrior husband who allows himself to be fodder for my blog. I love you, baby. Even when you act like one!)

LMAO! YES. My husband is the same way. His nose will run and he is stuck on the couch and can't get up to get a glass of water!! I have surgery and still manage to make dinner!

My hubby is the biggest baby when he is sick and he seems annoyed when I'm sick!

OH this is such a great post and yes, my husband drives me around the bend when he's sick but just like at your house, I'm on full duty when I catch something!

Thanks for linking, you made me laugh out loud with this one :)

Mine is prone to whimpering and endless hours of lounging.

YES! Men are such wussies! Whenever Hubby gets sick you'd think he was on his death bed.

Great post as always - so glad you decided to join in! As you already know my husband is exactly the same, Man Flu seems to be very common :)

When my hubby gets sick he is sicker than anyone has EVER been! Even though the rest of us may be sick right there along with him. Men are just babies when it comes to being sick. Darnit I carry the babies and push them out and deal with kidney stones while pregnant and morning sickness and you don't hear me complaining! lol

I have to tell you, I am SO glad to read all of these comments because I thought my husband was the biggest baby EVER! Do they not know this is a turnoff? I used to like to comfort him, now he just annoys me?

Men are definitely babies when they get sick! I can't imagine what it would be like if my husband was as sick as I've been at times and had to stay home all day with the kids. It's made me realize I'm much tougher than I thought.

Hope you are all feeling better!

My husband is the same way. He makes me feel his head a million times if he has the slightest tingle in his throat, and if the thermometer says anything above 98.5 he is on the couch, completely out of commision for days. So no matter what I always tell him he feels nice and cool to me.

Really funny post!

I agree in general men revert to childhood when they are sick. I think it's in their gene makeup that they need "Mothering" when they are sick.

The love of my life gets sick every 2-3 months. I think it's because he wants a few days off. When do I get my days off?

I'm definitely the bigger baby between my boyfriend and I, and I have to give him credit - he's a magnificent nurse maid (which doesn't exactly deter my childish behaviour)!

My hubs doesn't really turn into a baby; more like a hermit. He has a bigger problem with admitting he is sick and thus usually just gets sicker. I am most definitely the baby of the family.

Hope you are doing well!!
