Day Eighty or Up

I usually participate in Unknown Mami's Sundays in My City but today turned out to be a Sunday in my apartment and I thought that I would spare all of you a look at that. (Sorry UM, I'll be back next week.) Do check it out though -- http://www.unknownmami.com/.

So, this was a pizza/DVD afternoon with the kids and we got "Up". If you have not seen this film, you MUST. You do not need a munchkin to be swept up in this story of true love, love lost, friendship, dreams, and redemption. Sound a little heady for an animated film, well it is. Gloriously so. We saw it in the theater and it drove me to tears and the DVD viewing was no different.

Now you may be asking why the movie review? Well, I do not wish to spoil it for anyone so I will be sparse with details but this film is profound in its message that life's adventures don't necessarily happen in the wilds of world exploration. No, life's adventures can happen in the warmth of our homes, beside the ones we love just by choosing to fully live each day with joy and spirit.

And this is a message I need in my life. It's what I'm working for, hoping for, striving for. To make everyday an adventure -- wherever I am, whatever I am doing.

Loved UP! My daughter's (11 yrs.) shoulders were shaking as she cried at the beginning and ending sequences. So beautiful! Holly:)

Hubs took the kids to see it and I didn't go. We might have to buy the dvd. Sounds like a great message for us all.

I was never exactly sure what Up was about. Now I'm eager to see it and will put it on our list for next rentals.

By the way, you have an award waiting for you on my blog. Congrats.

I'm glad to have read this. I haven't seen the movie but I have heard much good about it. May be just the thing my family needs right now. :) That and some pizza.
