Day Three

Well, yesterday, I did do something that excited me. Not jump out of a plane exciting, but good for the soul exciting. I finally got to thank someone who had a profound influence on me. I recommend it. If there is someone in your life that has influenced you and you haven't told them, reach out and tell them. This person was completely unaware of how our interactions had so deeply affected me. I think we were both the better for it.

I also got to "play" with young aspiring theatre artists. Every time I think that I am done with the theatre (or more accurately, it's done with me), my spirit is renewed when I see my love for it reflected back in the eyes of children. What can I say, I fell in love as a child and it's really got a hold on me.

So, as it is clear that I am still besotted with the stage, how do I get back? And if I am successful in getting back, how do I balance that passion with the love for my kiddos. Well, Watson, that is the question, is it not?

I also started a new book called Point Zero. It's about getting out of one's own way when creating art. Haven't read enough to have an opinion but it does qualify as something new, right? (Right? Right? Please say right.)

Today, I took my son on a playdate and worked at making a new friend. As I am in a new town, this is new and can be scary. Blending children and parents, can sometimes be like cooking without a recipe. When it works, it's great, when it doesn't...well, you know the rest. Anyways, I am happy to report that it was a success for both sides of the age bracket. Yeah.

So that's three days. No Everests...yet. But three solid days of being present and trying to live a little more fully than the day before. In the end that may really be the point.

The Universe is abundant you will find a way to do what you love and take care of whom you love.

I miss theatre so much as well. At the beginning of the Phantom Of the Opera movie, they're all running around backstage whispering and getting into position and getting props. Oh it made my heart ache a little bit.
